Geometry in Construction at Poudre High School

Geometry in Construction is a unique math class at Poudre High School, taught by a dedicated team of teachers—Justin Koehn, Nathan Savig, and Steve Sayers. The class pairs geometry with the ultimate Shop Class—a real-world construction project. $5000 was awarded toward the construction of a 1,000 square foot home right outside the classroom in the lab module of this non-traditional geometry class. The worksite not only provides the hands-on experience of learning a skilled trade but also functions as an example of social action where the finished home will be donated to a Habitat for Humanity recipient.
